Sylvie Perbet letter to French Président Jacques Chirac
I was born in Moudeyres in 1923. I have lived in my small
county for 81 years. I have 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grand
children. They like Moudeyres and come there regularly. I like, we like
this beautiful country of Mézenc, this"Barthes Forest"
that I hike very often (bilberries, raspberries, mushrooms). I know all
the recesses, all the paths, all the trees. For pity's sake, do not destroy
this by establishing a windmill park
We are here so well. Thank you |

MEZENC
Far from roads and highways, this hamlet preserved
an architecture of great harmony.
The visit of the " firm-museum of the Perrel brothers " will
show how much this type of habitat was well adapted to the rural life.
In Moudeyres, thatch grinding stones and carapaces of roofing stones are
still for the greatest happiness of the eyes.
